MARATHON PUBLIC LIBRARY
Our mission is to strengthen the Marathon community by connecting people with ideas, information, and innovative services. We offer an eclectic collection of fiction, non-fiction, Texas history, junior, and children's books, as well as DVDs, high-speed fiber internet service, WiFi, public computers, printing/copying and faxing services, 3D printing on our PolyPrinter 229, and a variety of options for working in our Makerspace.
We also host a range of programs for children and adults, including our weekly After School Program, Summer Reading Program, Book Club, Marathon History Nights, TinkerTime, etc. Please stop by - we would love to say hello.

MARATHON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT.
The mission of the Marathon Volunteer Fire Department is to protect and preserve the lives and property of the citizens in the Marathon, Texas area, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness.
MVFD is always accepting applications for volunteer Firefighters. If you're looking for a way to be an important part of our community, this is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to do so. Come join a winning team. Benefits include: free training from Texas A&M Extension Service, free gym membership at Gage Fitness, and most importantly, the opportunity to help our Marathon residents in their greatest times of need. MARATHON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
Marathon ISD is a small 1A district in far West Texas (Region 18). We are one campus in two next-door buildings - an elementary building and a middle / high school building. We serve Pre-K through 12th grade students, and in 2016-17 had a total enrollment of 72 students.

The Post Office does not deliver mail to residential or business locations in Marathon. All mail is delivered to PO Boxes only. (UPS and FedEx will deliver to residential and business locations.)

MARATHON COMMUNITY CENTER
The Marathon Community Center is a recently renovated, old-fashioned community hall on the Marathon Town Square. Suitable for dances, social events and meetings, it has a kitchen and updated air conditioning and heating. Accommodates 150 people.
